Hello Texas SLPAS! I am in dire need of advice regarding the best way to get my Texas SLPA license. I am licensed as a SLPA in California and just moved out to Austin, Texas. The problem I have run into is that in order to get my license in Texas I need to have a supervisor sign off on the Supervisor Responsibility Statement. Once I have that submitted (I have already submitted all my other paperwork) the state can start processing my application for my license. However, the processing time is currently around EIGHT WEEKS!!! So, what I don't understand is this: how am I supposed to find a supervisor that is willing to hire me, sign the paperwork, and then wait eight weeks for me to get my license so I can start to work? Is there something I'm missing here? Am I allowed to start working during the processing time even if I don't technically have my license yet? HELP PLEASE!! Thank you!!
